Specialized Training
Periodontics is a recognized dental specialty by the American Dental Association.
A periodontist is a dentist who has completed 3 years of additional training after dental school. Periodontists specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease and in the placement of dental implants.
Dr. Harbinder S Bal went to Boston University School of Dental Medicine for his Dental School and his specialty training in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery. He has learned and mastered procedures such as periodontal surgery, gum, and bone grafting, including sinus lifts, crown lengthening, cosmetic gum surgery to enhance the appearance of teeth, and much more.
Dr. Bal is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Board Certification is awarded to those periodontists who pass both the written and extensive oral examinations. To maintain the diplomate status, recertification is required every 6 years.
